Although Chris and Acacia attended the same middle and high school, they were never friends. In 2013, Chris began liking several of Acacia’s pictures on Instagram which prompted her to send him a DM.

They exchanged numbers and began talking every day for about two weeks before going on their first date to Cold Stone Creamery. July 10, 2013 they decided to make things official. After dating for almost 3 years, Chris proposed the day before their 3rd anniversary. The proposal was very intimate. In their home, Chris created a small scavenger hunt that led Acacia to her engagement ring. They got married on November 5, 2017 in Atlanta, GA. Together, they enjoy creating content, cooking, and growing their businesses. “Our love runs deeper than marriage. We’re best friends, business partners, and developers mentally and soulfully to one another”.

Chris grew fond of photography in 2011 while helping his mom with a college photography class. Being at liberty to create without limits and bring the imagination to life from behind the lens intrigued Chris the most. He began researching, asking friends to model for him and developing his editing skills, even after the class was over. After realizing how much he enjoyed photography, Chris left his corporate role at Coca-Cola and began working as a full time Product Photographer. He has worked with Case-Mate, Tennis warehouse, Coca-Cola, Ace Care Management and Running warehouse on product shots, short films, and event photography. Chris also enjoys creating short promo videos, vlogs and music videos for clients who desire more than still images.

Chris and Acacia always dreamed of being entrepreneurs. They opened their first business, The Fords Photography in 2013. They’ve worked with over 150 clients at several studios and many locations throughout Georgia and Florida. The Fords Photography specializes in family photoshoots, lifestyle, branding and weddings. “We are very passionate about capturing memories that our clients can look back on and relive the moment."

In 2021, The Fords launched their second business, A’Marie Essentials. Derived from Acacia’s first and middle name, the business got its kickstart during the pandemic in the midst of Acacia transitioning careers. To ease the anxiety of transitioning into the mortgage industry, Acacia zoned in on the one thing that made her relaxed… aromatherapy scents. A’Marie Essentials is a luxury room and linen spray that was created to provide a calm and relaxing environment, any time and at any place. “Each bottle is crafted, hand-poured and filled with love”. A’Marie Essentials has been shipped as far as Qatar and is looking forward to reaching many more destinations.

No matter the direction life takes you, the moment is still “picture perfect” as long as it makes “scents" to you.
